Blake Brettschneider
Blake is an Associate in the Atlanta office of Kabat Chapman & Ozmer, where he represents employers in a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including trade secret and unfair competition litigation, discrimination and retaliation claims, wage and hour disputes, and complex multi-plaintiff and class action litigation. Blake has secured early dismissals, drafted successful dispositive motions, and helped clients obtain emergency injunctive relief in high stakes trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes.
Before entering private practice, Blake served as a law clerk for the Hon. Walter E. Johnson, U.S. Magistrate Judge, in the Northern District of Georgia, where he drafted Orders and Reports and Recommendations in civil and criminal matters and assisted with case management, discovery disputes, and dispositive motions.
Blake earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Denver Law Review, earned his Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate, and represented Denver nonprofit organizations and small businesses as a student attorney in the Community Economic Development Clinic.
Blake received his B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina, graduating cum laude. While at South Carolina, Blake was a four-year starter on the varsity men’s soccer team, earning Conference USA Co MVP honors, First Team All-Conference recognition, and ESPN Academic All American distinction, before being drafted by D.C. United in the 2011 MLS Draft.
A former professional athlete, Blake brings a competitive mindset, disciplined preparation, and a team-oriented approach to every client engagement. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and Colorado.

Obtained full dismissal of a federal Complaint at the Motion to Dismiss stage by demonstrating Plaintiff’s failure to timely file claims following issuance of an EEOC Notice of Right to Sue.

Second-chaired restrictive covenants case that resulted in granting of a Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction on behalf of a client whose former employee misappropriated confidential trade secrets and violated restrictive covenant agreements.

Conducted witness interviews and represented clients in preparing comprehensive responses to charges filed with administrative agencies, resulting in successful resolutions and minimized exposure.

Counseled a litigation-averse client through mediation, developing negotiation strategy and achieving a favorable settlement outcome.
