LOS ANGELES, March 28, 2025 – Kabat Chapman & Ozmer LLP (KCO) is pleased to announce the addition of Chiemela Okwandu to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Chiemela joins as an associate in the Financial Services Litigation practice.

“We are excited for Chiemela to join our Los Angeles office,” said Michael Kabat, KCO’s founding and managing partner. “She is a great addition to the firm, and we look forward to the addition of her background and experience on our team.”

Okwandu has experience negotiating settlements that saved clients millions in potential liabilities and costs, responding to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions from the Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and preparing for trial. Okwandu earned her undergraduate degree at University of California, Los Angeles, with honors, and her law degree from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, where she was a recipient of the Dean’s Academic Merit Scholarship and the law review editor for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Law Journal.
