ATLANTA, October 2024 – Kabat Chapman & Ozmer LLP (KCO) is pleased to announce that Tracy Caswell has joined the firm as a partner and Dori Butler has joined as an associate, both in the firm’s Atlanta office.
“We are thrilled to add Tracy and Dori to our team,” says Michael Kabat, managing partner of KCO. “Tracy’s background as general counsel to multiple companies, combined with her mix of legal and business perspectives, makes Tracy a tremendously valuable asset to our firm. Dori’s experience in commercial litigation and bankruptcy law will also be incredibly beneficial to our team.”
Caswell joins KCO with almost 30 years of experience in a variety of legal practices, including complex commercial contracts, employment law, litigation, arbitration/mediation, negotiations, intellectual property, risk and resource management, business transactions and board governance. Prior to joining the firm, she served as senior vice president and general counsel at point-of-sale SaaS company Revel Systems Inc. Caswell also served as chief administrative officer and general counsel at intelligent energy management solutions companies, Comverge Inc., now CPower Energy.
“I’m excited to leverage my past experiences in this new setting,” said Caswell. “KCO is an ideal fit for me as many of the firm’s clients have operations that I can support as part of the firm’s fractional general counsel group. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with such an impressive team of attorneys.”
Throughout her career, Caswell has worked in a variety of industries, including energy management, the SaaS space (point of sale, security services, training software) and medical devices. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, and her law degree from California Western School of Law.
Caswell has held the position of general counsel for multiple companies, both public and private, over the span of her career. She will now provide corporate and fractional general counsel services for her KCO clients, advising on complex commercial contracts, business transactions, corporate governance and labor and employment matters. Dori Butler will focus her practice on commercial litigation, consumer finance litigation and employment disputes.
Prior to joining our firm, Butler was a clerk at the Northern District of Georgia U.S. Bankruptcy Court, where she assisted with adversary proceedings in contract disputes and fraudulent transfers under federal and state law. Butler has a range of experience in bankruptcy law and commercial disputes.
Butler earned her undergraduate degree from University of Georgia, cum laude. She earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law, where she graduated with honors and served as Symposium Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review
